Building Portraits

Sometimes buildings are hard to photograph due to their size and surrounding clutter and obstructions. This is when an illustration can be the best way to capture an image while editing out distractions.

Materials: Pen & ink, plus ink wash or watercolors applied over the ink line drawing for added depth if desired. I use a heavy, acid-free paper that will last “forever” and look great framed. The finished illustration can also be scanned and used for printing personal cards.

Clients: National Geographic, Saint Nicholas Cathedral, and private homeowners.
